The Single Most Important Skill You Need to Succeed in Tech

Do you really know how to be your own boss?

It sounds great, right? You wake up whenever you want to (but probably nice and early, since you always treat yourself to a run and a sit-down breakfast), you wear whatever you want, you schedule meetings that never conflict with your lunch plans, and you decide when to go on vacation.

In theory, I suppose, that might happen. But there are also times when end up staring into a computer screen, your neck hunched, and your fingers hate-clicking the mouse as you try so. hard. to. just. find. the. answer.

I kind of like that frustrated feeling we all get sometimes, when the code just isn't working and you can't figure out why.It means we're in the club. The tech club. The tech club for people who rage at their laptops and then caress them lovingly once the problem is solved.

But whether you get a thrill out of the coding doldrums or not, if you want to succeed in tech, you have to learn how to deal with it when you hit a wall. Learning how to get yourself unstuck is the single most important thing you can learn.

So head on over to this week's episode of SkillcrushTV and tap into the the secret all the most successful techies know.
