You need a flexible job! And a flexible job can mean: a remote job, a part-time job, a job with a flexible schedule, freelance work, or even a job with great maternity or paternity leave.
FlexJobs found that the highest motivating factors that lead parents to search for remote work are:

    • Family responsibilities (52 percent)
    • Work-life balance (74 percent) was tied with health/exercise
    • Time and cost savings, as well as a reduction in commuting stress, follow.

And there are a lot of different models of flexible work situations that will help you achieve those goals.

“Most parents want to work from home, but other types of flexibility are popular as well,”:

    • telecommuting all the time (79 percent)
    • alternative or flexible schedules (47 percent)
    • telecommuting part of the time (44 percent)
    • part-time schedules (45 percent)
    • freelance positions (39 percent)
